Quartz veins with associated Sb-Pb-Ag±Au mineralization
2018-11-21 A combination of textural observations from 38 Permian Sb-Pb-Ag±Au-bearing quartz veins in the Schwarzwald (SW Germany) with isotopic, fluid inclusion, and geochemical data allows to refine genetic models for this common type of mineralization, to understand the origin of mineralogical diversity and the correlation with large scale tectonic events. Textures record four main mineralization ...

Quartz Vein - an overview ScienceDirect Topics
The pyrite vein and quartz vein samples from the Dapingzhang area were produced from the copper–lead–zinc–sulfur polymetallic sulfide deposit, which is in the town of Dapingzhang, Lantsang area, Pu'er, Yunnan Province. A few pure lump ores from the pyrite veins and quartz veins were used as raw materials and crushed to 0.5–1 mm. Pure pyrite was picked from a pyrite vein as the pyrite ...

The Quartz Page: Occurrence
2014-1-12 Sometimes colored minerals precipitate along with the quartz and amplify this pattern. Chlorite is often found in quartz veins but its major growth phase tends to be at lower temperatures than quartz, very often when the temperature has fallen so much that the quartz crystal growth wanes.

Identity Help : UNKNOWN GREEN MINERAL IN QUARTZ
2019-11-20 Just finished a day in the field where I found a quartz vein with a small % of chalcopyrite and a green mineral. The quartz and this unknown mineral seem to have formed at the same time as the properties along the mineral are variable. Does not fizz with HCl, even when crushed. Scratches with copper coin in places but not with a fingernail.

Quartz: Mineral information, data and localities.
In most environments quartz crystals are attached to the host rock and only have one tip, but double-terminated crystals are also found. As a rock-forming mineral, quartz commonly occurs as sub-millimeter to centimeter-sized anhedral grains, well-formed crystals are uncommon. Secondary vein-fillings of quartz are typically massive.

Vein Mineral Deposits - Mineral Processing Metallurgy
2016-10-4 Vein matter is the mineral mass filling the vein; it may or may not be valuable. The whole may be of value, for example, fluorspar and barite veins. Or the value may be in minerals like gold, silver, copper, and other ores scattered through quartz, calcite, or other mineral forming the main part of the vein matter, the gangue.

How to Find Quartz Crystals (And Where to Look ...
2021-11-29 Quartz crystals can be found in old mine tailings, mineral veins in both igneous and sedimentary rocks, in pockets of soil, and even laying on the ground. They can also be found in large quantities at certain pay-to-dig sites, or purchased at local rock shops.

QUARTZ VEINS FORMED BY METAMORPHIC
2007-4-5 Quartz Veins. Quartz veins are numerous in the schists of the Littleton formation. They range up to about two feet in thickness and many tens of feet in length. On outcrop surface they may appear as simple, clean-cut bands or they may grade into highly irregular and anastomosing vein-complexes. Some are sharp, straight veins whereas others are ...

What are veins in mining? – AnswersToAll
2021-3-26 What minerals most often form in veins? Within these fractures, fluid in or around the existing rock allows for the release of minerals. As the rock temperature cools these fluids precipitate and mineralize, forming veins. The minerals that can form as a result are numerous, but the most common is quartz and calcite. Why is gold found in veins?

Wisconsin Geological Natural History Survey » Quartz
The quartz is grey, pink and green and also occurs as milky crystals 3 cm long in veins. Some “C Face” quartz crystals have been found. Associated minerals include K feldspar and sericite (Greenberg, et al., 1986). Small hematite roses occur perched on the quartz crystals (Buchholz, personal communication, 1993).
